Privacy Policy

How Spride handles and protects your information across our connected mobility ecosystem.

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Spride Networking collects, why we use it, when we share it, and the choices available to you.

3. How we collect information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you register, book, apply, pay, or contact us;
  • automatically from your device, browser, app, cookies, and similar technologies;
  • through your use of rides, scooters, safety features, or other Spride services; and
  • from drivers, fleet operators, payment processors, identity services, mapping providers, business partners, public authorities, or other permitted sources.

4. How and why we use information

We use personal information to:

  • create, verify, secure, and manage accounts;
  • provide ride requests, matching, routing, tracking, receipts, and ride history;
  • operate Premium, scooter, public transport, professional, and fleet features;
  • process payments and maintain transaction records;
  • review driver, professional, business, finance, or partnership applications;
  • provide support, investigate incidents, and resolve complaints;
  • protect users, prevent fraud, enforce our terms, and secure our systems;
  • measure performance, understand usage, and improve our services;
  • send service messages and, with any required consent, marketing; and
  • comply with legal, regulatory, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations.

Depending on applicable law, we rely on performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, consent, and our legitimate interests or those of others. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the effect on your rights and privacy.

5. Location, safety, and recording features

Location information may be required for pickup and destination selection, route visualisation, driver matching, trip tracking, nearby transport, service availability, and user-activated safety tools. You can control device location permissions, but some features will not work without them.

Optional safety features may allow location sharing, trip monitoring, alerts, or device-dependent audio or video recording. We will provide appropriate disclosures and obtain consent where required. Recording features must be used lawfully and do not guarantee police contact or emergency response.

6. When we share information

We may share information with:

  • drivers, passengers, fleet operators, delivery providers, or transport partners as needed to provide a requested service;
  • payment processors, banks, lenders, identity-verification providers, insurers, and fraud-prevention partners;
  • cloud hosting, mapping, communications, analytics, customer support, security, and other vendors working for us;
  • business partners when you request a joint or third-party service or give consent;
  • law enforcement, regulators, courts, emergency services, or other authorities where disclosure is lawful and necessary; and
  • an acquiring or successor organisation in connection with a merger, financing, reorganisation, or sale, subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal information for money.

7. International transfers

Spride's service providers or partners may process information outside Eswatini. Where personal information is transferred to a country with different privacy protections, we use safeguards required by applicable law, such as contractual, organisational, and technical measures.

8. How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Retention periods depend on the type of information, the service used, account status, safety and fraud risks, limitation periods, and legal, tax, regulatory, or accounting requirements.

When information is no longer required, we delete it, anonymise it, or securely isolate it until deletion is possible. Some records may remain after account closure where law requires this or where reasonably necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

9. How we protect information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse. Measures may include encryption in transit, access controls, authentication, monitoring, secure configuration, backups, and role-based permissions.

No system is completely secure. You should use a strong password, protect verification codes, keep your devices secure, and notify us if you suspect unauthorised account activity.

10. Cookies and analytics

The website may use cookies and similar technologies needed for security, functionality, preferences, analytics, and approved marketing. Where required, we ask for consent before using non-essential technologies. You can manage available choices through our cookie controls and your browser settings.

Analytics may measure page views, app-download clicks, calls to action, registrations, booking attempts, applications, enquiries, and search traffic. We configure analytics to respect applicable privacy and consent requirements. See our Cookie Policy for more information.

11. Your privacy rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; restrict or object to certain processing; withdraw consent; and complain to an appropriate data-protection or regulatory authority.

Some information can be reviewed or updated through your account. For other requests, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. Rights may be limited where an exception under applicable law applies.

12. Children's privacy

Spride's services are not directed to children who cannot lawfully consent or enter into the relevant service agreement. If a service is made available to younger users, we will apply age-appropriate safeguards and obtain permission from a parent or guardian where required.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our services, practices, or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the latest version. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes through the website, app, email, or another suitable channel.
